DICK LEHR Signing: 10/23, 3-4 pm

Back in Nov 2008, the Harbor Merchants Co-Operative set the framework for a monthly event on Front Street. Called FIRST FRIDAY NIGHTS IN SCITUATE HARBOR it is held on the first Friday night of each month from 7-9 pm on Front Street. Each month, merchants will have an event that suits their venue.

FRONT STREET BOOK SHOP’s contribution is FRIDAY NIGHT MYSTERY NIGHT. By arrangement with SISTERS IN CRIME*, FSBS welcomes a member author every first Friday of each month. On July 3 @ 7 author/Channel 7 reporter HANK PHILLIPPI RYAN will be with us.

* SISTERS IN CRIME began in 1986 by best-selling author Sara Paretsky and Kate Mattes, owner of Kate’s Mystery Books. Their mission: to “combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, to raise awareness of the contributions of female authors, and to promote the professional advancement of women who write mysteries”, SINC’s membership (includes Lehane, Coben, Evanovich, Grafton...) is now approx 3600 in 48 chapters world-wide. Members include: authors, agents, booksellers, librarians & readers bound by their mutual affection for the mystery genre and their support of women & men who write mysteries.

Since Nov 2008 Front Street Book Shop has hosted 11 SINC authors, most from the New England Branch: The Scarlet Letters.
